CONCEPT
For the past 25 years, the McLean County Museum of History has hosted the annual Evergreen Cemetery Walk. The event consists of a costumed portrayal and reanactment of individuals who have impacted McLean County. The event takes place within the cemetery, allowing participants to be a part of the rich history, while also viewing the beautiful Evergreen Cemetery. I was inspired by the mapping of the cemetery for the overall design of the branding materials. During my tour of the cemetery, I realized how unique the walkways and plots were. Behind the map you will find an image of the cemetery. Due to the different colored sections within the map, you are only able to see small sections of the photo at a time. This represents how history is viewed differently by each individual. The colors were chosen based off of multiple organizations who sponsor the event. The 25th Anniversary text is included within the map of the cemetery to resemble a walkway one might take through the cemetery. The event's logo is very traditional, so my overall goal was to create a fun, modern, and eye catching design to draw all different age groups to the event.
