College of Education at the University of Central Missouri
CONCEPT
When we began researching the College of Education and University of Central Missouri, it was clear that the university takes pride in its strong values and traditions. Every student that attends the university is held to a high standard to ensure success after graduation. When examining the university’s campus, we were inspired by the variety of architecture that is present. The strength and history each building possesses influenced the ideas and values of our design concept and execution. We brought these ideas into our poster knowing how important the university is to its students, faculty, and alumni. Our design takes inspiration from the University of Central Missouri logo, and the strong diagonals and geometric patterning used to depict the administration building within. We created a pattern resembling doors and windows to suggest innovative opportunities one experiences when attending the university. The intersecting, transparent lines represent new connections made between the students, teachers, campus, and community. The red bar crossing over the poster represents the bridge a student will take from an undergraduate or graduate to an alumni. The intersecting lines occupy space around this red bar, signifying the connections you will make on your journey through University of Central Missouri. Finally, we selected the modern, sans-serif typeface Futura from the University of Central Missouri's branding.
